Budget Updates – What You Need to Know
On 23 June 2021, Hon Kelvin Davis announced further updates including the change to the Birthday and Holiday Allowance to now include caregivers who are receiving the OB and UCB. Previously, this allowance was only being paid to caregivers who cared for children in state care.
The Holiday Allowance will be paid in advance of Christmas this year and the Birthday Allowance payments will begin from January 2022. These allowances will be paid to anyone receiving the OB, UCB, and FCA automatically.
Also, anyone receiving the Unsupported Child’s Benefit (UCB), Orphans Benefit (OB), or Foster Care Allowance (FCA) will see an increase from 1 April 2022.
