Tena koutou katoa,
I have continued to touch base with many of our members over Term Two and now into Term Four. I have been calling caregivers in our Northwest region to check how you all are doing.
It’s been a privilege to hear how caregivers are overcoming challenges and how they have been able to adapt to changes. During these calls I have been updating our records with any changes that might have occurred to your living or caregiving situation. For example, those caregivers who have gained permanency, or have stopped caregiving, or simply moved houses. Please get in touch with me if there have been any changes for you and your family/whānau so we can support you in the future.

It amazes me the broad variety of wonderful caregivers I come across, from the whānau caregiver who cares for their five nephews, nieces, and mokopuna; to the single adults who provide care on their own; to the families who have one or several tamariki in their care. There are many stories of their challenges, but the aroha/love and determination to do the very best for the tamariki in their care shines through.
Due to the ever-changing COVID-19 levels, the Family Fun Day events in your town may have changed. Please check your ticket or our website for the most up to date information.
If you haven’t already done so, please register as you will be given a ticket to attend or a voucher if your event gets cancelled. There are two fun events in our region, one in New Plymouth on the 5 December and the other in Whanganui on the 4 December. Keep looking at the link below for current updates and changes and to register.
It’s always lovely touching base with you all.
Stay well, look after yourselves.
Noho ora mai
Teena
