Kia ora Lower South,

As the holiday season approaches, I wanted to take a moment to wish you a joyous Christmas and a safe, prosperous New Year. It’s hard to believe how quickly this year has flown by, and I’m grateful for all the wonderful moments we’ve shared together.

This year has been filled with incredible experiences, and it’s been a pleasure building and strengthening our relationships. Our community has grown and thrived, and it’s heartwarming to see the support and camaraderie that we’ve all fostered.

I’ll be away from the 20th of December until the 16th of January, spending quality time with my whānau. Kicking off 2024 with a BANG, the Dunedin & Invercargill Community Fun Days are scheduled for January 20th and 21st! I’m excited to join you all and bring my whānau along for the festivities (Register here).

Additionally, we have the Foundation of Attachment training in March in Mosgiel, specifically designed for caregivers of tamariki facing emotional connection challenges due to attachment issues, trauma, loss, and/or separation. Understanding their behaviour from a trauma-informed perspective is crucial for creating a healing environment. There is a limited spaces so please register (Register here).

Our National Office will be closed from Friday 22nd December 2023 to Monday 8th January 2024. For urgent matters involving an allegation please call 0800 693 278.  For all other urgent matters please call your Agency.  For non-urgent matters please leave National Office a message on 0800 693 323 or email, and they will get back to you when they return.

I’m looking forward to reconnecting with you all in the new year, and to continue building upon the positive momentum we’ve created together. May this holiday season bring you warmth, happiness, and moments of pure joy.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Warmest regards,

Jared
