My whānau (family) climbed our Tupuna maunga (Ancestral mountain) at 6am on 13 July and caught a glimpse of the Matariki cluster before it was covered by clouds. The whetu (star Puanga) is the star we see most prominently in the North. You may have got up early with your tamariki (children). It was worth the effort, looking East over Te Moananui-a-Kiwa (the Pacific ocean).
With the cold weather has come the rain … floods are no fun. I hope you are all looking after yourselves and looking out for each other. Have you got some respite planned? (especially after school holidays).
It’s times like these when we need a friendly face and someone who understands how our lives are on a day to day basis.
Come share your stories at a training or coffee morning (dates to be set this week) with people who ‘get you’!
