Kia ora koutou – you have made it through the school holidays, PHEW, 😊. Hopefully you have the firewood stacked and/or the crochet blankets ready for comfort through the winter months ahead.
For those who haven’t heard yet, I have resigned from my position here at Caring Families Aotearoa. It has been a wonderful privilege walking beside you on your journey as I have learned so much from so many of you. I have appreciated deepening my knowledge of trauma-informed practice and sharing this with you through person-to-person support, or at our trainings.

I have enjoyed meeting and working with many wonderful frontline professionals too. I would like to take this opportunity to say how much I have enjoyed the last three years working for Caring Families Aotearoa and especially the other Regional Coordinators around te motu/the island and my manager Stephanie James-Sadler for her unwavering support of me and the team.
As many of you know, I am passionate about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and providing support to caregivers and whānau who are raising tamariki and rangatahi who have been prenatally exposed to alcohol. This will be my focus moving forward, so I am sure our paths may well still weave and interconnect.
Thanks to those who attended my farewell event on Wednesday 28th April.
