It is a very wet and windy day out there as I write this, winter is definitely here. I hope everyone is able to stay dry and warm as much as they can. If you live in a cold or damp home (very common in our region!) click the button below to see if you qualify for a grant for insulation and/or a heat pump. As I live in Porirua, I was able to get 90% funding for insulation and am really noticing how toasty my home is now.

Training
We have new training developed by Caring Families Aotearoa starting next term. Please keep an eye on your emails which will have the details for you to sign up. I am really excited about the new topics we are offering.
The first up next term is “What’s Behind the Behaviour – Healing Centred Engagement”. This newly developed training explores the importance of emotional connection with children. The idea is to parent in a way that meets the behavioural, developmental, and therapeutic needs of the child. This DDP informed workshop has an emphasis on ‘connection with correction’ to provide a secure and safe base for the child. I look forward to seeing you there!

Support Groups
FASD Lower North Support Group

New Wellington Support Group
We also have a new Wellington Support Group starting up for any caregiver within the Wellington area. The first meeting is to be held on 7th July from 10.30 am – 11.30 am at Sipriana Café on Thorndon Quay. There is parking, high chairs, and a play area for pre-schoolers.
