Ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa / Warm greetings to you all,

What an amazing day we had at the Whānau Fun Bike Day on Sunday, March 21. Thanks to those that came and congratulations to the three tamariki who WON a NEW BIKE each. I think every child and most adults went away with a spot prize or a goodie bag of some kind 😊. It was fabulous collaborating with Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Voyce-Whakarongo Mai and AT (Auckland Transport) – special thanks to Sally Mowbury-Lee for volunteering on the day, it was much appreciated (and my dear friend BJ)!!

Due to COVID Alert 3 we had to POSTPONE the INDULGE Pamper Day – watch for a email and on our closed Facebook page for the new date !!

Join us at the PAMPER DAY to learn about Whenua to whenua / composting workshop.

This workshop will be facilitated by Therese from PVA and offers an introduction to composting – BOKASHI style, a system that ferments food scraps in a bucket (with no mess or mice!).  Learn how simple it is to get started and return what came from the whenua back to the whenua in a nourishing way. (All participants will be offered a $40 discount coupon towards a system of their own.)

Waste-Free Parenting will be facilitated by Kath – from lunchboxes to cloth nappies to self-care, come and learn a new way of caring for yourself and your environment.

We will have pamper stations, light refreshments and a light lunch will be provided in a wonderful venue!

I hope all of our caregiver members registered for the ‘Night on Us’ – Pizza deal. Our household certainly did.  Many thanks to Dominos, (nice to find out how community minded they are!) and to Caring Families Aotearoa. Thanks to one of our regional members for her photo – lots of enjoyment and of course a night off cooking! Can’t beat that.

“CFA you made our day! Thank you! #Dominopizza #notjustthe$5pizzas #thegoodones!#justformumanddad #youguysonlylikethecheesycheeseanyway”

Training

Thanks for your Feedback: TRAINING – National Caregiver Training Programme

We really do appreciate your feedback. This last year has been an unsettling time. We know we’ve postponed trainings due to the COVID alert levels fluctuating and people’s apprehension in returning to workshops in the aftermath of alert level changes. We know we’ve cancelled trainings due to low numbers. We’ve been working on a new training registration system that hasn’t always been as responsive to you as we would have liked. We’ve heard that this has affected your confidence in what we can provide. We apologise that this has been the experience of some of you. We believe very strongly in the importance of Caregiver learning and so are very aware of what we need to clearly communicate to you going forward. There will be some changes from July, we will let you know once the details have been confirmed. Thank you once again for your feedback.

The calendar for Term Two of 2021 will soon be live. There are some new session topics on offer.  We will email you when the calendar is live.  I try to offer training in a variety of suburbs and venues around the region e.g. North, West, Central and South. Feel free to get in touch if I am in your area and we could meet for a chat. There is also the online discussion series which has all sorts of topics on Therapeutic Parenting and is a live Q & A format. There are still some trainings left this term.  To find out more click the button below and register.
