Kia ora e te whānau,

We are back into the school term, how is it going? I hope the return to school has been a welcomed break following the holidays, and the kids are settling back into the weekday school routine. What did you get up to during the holidays? I managed to have a couple of days out of Auckland which provided a much-needed breather and then a good chunk of it was spent indoors, dodging the rainy, cold weather and looking after an unwell household. I hope whatever the holidays looked like for you, you are keeping well.

TRAINING

We have a great range of training coming up this month. If you are close to Glenfield (Wednesday 10 August), Onehunga/Oranga (Tuesday 16 August) or Sunnyvale (Tuesday 30 August), we would love to have you join us for our Family Dynamics-Torn Loyalties workshop. We’ll be exploring the experience of children in care as they navigate relationships and contact with their biological family and whānau, as well as their care family. We’ll also consider how you can support them with the range of thoughts and feelings that come from their unique care situation.

You will also have another opportunity to participate in the Making Changes-Stability in Hard Times workshop; this will be held at Silverdale. If you’re interested in considering what you bring to your role as a caregiver and exploring ways you can use this understanding to create a calm, settled home environment, centred around the relationship with your tamariki and rangatahi, this training may be a helpful one.

We are keen to keep in-person trainings local and accessible so if you have any ideas of locations across Auckland that would work for you, please flick me a text or email with your suggestions.

Find out more and register for training below.
