Kia ora e te whānau,
How are you keeping? Winter is definitely here, I have to admit it has taken me a bit of time to get back into the rhythm of cooler, shorter days. Making a hot cup of tea and reading a book, with a blanket, on the couch every so often has made it a little easier. I am hoping that you also have been able to find a moment of breathing space in the hecticness of more indoor/rainy days.
Despite the wild weather, the last month has been an exciting one! It was so great meeting some of our caregiver members at our first face-to-face event for the year, at the Stardome Observatory over the Matariki long weekend. Thanks to everyone who came along to watch Matariki Dawn! Another definite highlight has been getting back into in-person training during June, it feels like such a treat to be learning together, in person!

Training
This coming term we will be introducing a new training, available online and in-person, called Family Dynamics – Torn Loyalties. We’ll be exploring the range of emotions and possible tensions experienced by tamariki (children) coming into a care family and how together with their caregiver/s they can navigate their connection with their biological family and any challenges that come with this experience. For more information or to register click the button below.
Our Ako Ngātahi/Learning Together series are continuing, with this month’s focus on Behavioural Support. Click below for more information or to register.
Keeping PACE – National Conference

Things are tracking well for our National Conference this year in Lower Hutt. We have a great range of guest speakers this year and there is still time to register. More details can be found here.
