Kia ora koutou katoa
For all of us this Covid-19 situation has offered such diverse experiences and a full variety of emotions. You, the whānau and caregivers of tamariki/children in care are doing your best in your bubbles and this has saved lives. I have loved speaking to some of you and hearing your tales and reports of the highs and lows. I have also enjoyed connecting ‘face-to-face/screen-to-screen’ on the Zoom virtual support groups I have been running.
You show resilience, love and healing to those who have experienced trauma and insecurity AND you do this while juggling the same personal / whānau / family and work struggles as the rest of the world. You are the true heroes.

Foster the pathway of knowledge to strength, independence and growth for future generations

It has been confirmed that I am no teacher and to mix the teaching hat with the parenting hat hasn’t gone down well on several occasions. Often, I just give in and go with “what’s on top” like the day we did chicken maths. Hehe
Stay positive whānau, stay caring, calm and consistent – we’re in this together.
Be kind.
