CEO Message June 2024
Kia ora
It feels like we say this every year, but it’s hard to believe we have already arrived at the beginning of Winter – the months feel like they’re flying by! Time to bring the winter woollies out of hibernation.
I hope you all enjoyed a special Mother’s Day last month and got to spend the day with loved ones. Check out this photo we took on Mother’s Day – four generations of mothers in one photo!
The countdown is now officially on to our National Conference in September! Our Picking Up the PACE 2024 conference website will go live next week and will have all the information about our amazing speakers, the venue, costs and the full two-day programme – keep an eye out on our social media and your emails to register. I’m looking forward to hearing from our knowledgeable International and Kiwi line up of speakers, I’m sure there will be lots of new learnings taking place over the two days.
We also have applications opening this month for ‘L’Oreal for Youth’ (formerly known as Face your Future), an inspiring two day camp for rangatahi (young people) in care. This year marks 15 years of the camp and there will be some extra celebrations and amazing speakers to inspire your rangatahi. So if you care for a young person aged between 16-18, keep a close eye on our website and social media for when applications open!
In the meantime, I hope you and your whānau are keeping well and warm, and that you find a little bit of joy in each day to brighten those winter blues.
Noho ora mai (stay well),
Linda
