Kia ora koutou
This year is speeding along and we are almost in June, halfway through the year. It seems to have gone so fast. We are well into winter now in Hawke’s Bay and when I decided to walk into the village to get coffee today at 7:30am in the morning, my hands felt like two ice blocks by the time I arrived. Walking back at least I could hold my coffee between both my hands to keep warm.
There are opportunities to meet online with the virtual support groups so if one of those might work for you, then sign up on the Caring Families website. They have been very popular and some caregivers have asked for them to keep going as Covid restrictions ease.

Caring Families Aotearoa is so happy to be able to host our National Conference this year, yay, they are great! It will be in Lower Hutt. We have an exciting array of speakers joining us for this event that include Dan Hughes and Jon Baylin who will be talking about Parenting the Mistrustful Child. Joe Tucci from the Australian Childhood Foundation will be speaking along with a range of local keynote speakers and workshop presenters. It will be great to see lots of Caregivers from all around the country there. For more details and possible funding contributions check out our website.
