Hello everybody,

It’s already February 2024! Crazy how time flies when it’s summer and we all are living outside, more or less!

I hope you enjoyed the festive season. I need to say I love Christmas, hanging out with family and friends and eating just way too much. What could be better!

As many of you know I am originally from Berlin, Germany. But did you know that we Germans celebrate three days of Christmas? Yes, three days of festive traditions, family and food. We celebrate Christmas on the 24th in the afternoon/early evening with our close family, eat potato salad and of course, sausages. On the 25th and 26th we celebrate with the whole family, all the grandparents, cousins, aunty’s and uncle’s come together.

It’s awesome to be back working with everyone, all refreshed for the new year. I can’t believe I’ve already worked with all of you wonderful caregivers for a whole year.

I can’t wait to get to know you all a little more, maybe at one of our support groups or next events. See you there!

Caroline

A word from Jared

Greetings to both new and familiar members,

I extend a warm welcome as we embark on a new year together. I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to support each one of you throughout 2024. I trust that you had a rejuvenating and safe holiday season. Personally, I spent an amazing holiday with my whānau and embarked on a two-week road trip around the North Island. While the experiences were enriching, there’s truly nothing quite like the comfort of home.

Please remember, I am here for you. If you find yourself in need of assistance to navigate and enhance your caregiver experience, do not hesitate to reach out. You can contact me at southsupport@caringfamilies.org or call me at 027 501 0392.

Looking forward to connecting and supporting you on this journey.
