Kia ora everyone! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season.

As we embark on a new year, and I reflect on my own experiences over the last few weeks, my family and I predominantly embraced the tranquillity of our home, seeking refuge from the scorching heat and intense sun. Judging by my tan lines, it’s evident that we’ve had a memorable and enjoyable summer thus far.

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you, both new and existing members, for making my inaugural year truly exceptional. We’ve shared remarkable moments through various events, and I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with some truly wonderful individuals.

The year ahead…

Looking ahead to the coming year, I intend to continue contributing to the community in much the same spirit, with a focus on expanding my efforts to support caregivers. I am committed to enhancing my knowledge and skills, to provide even more meaningful assistance in areas where caregivers may need support the most. Together, let’s make this year one of growth, support, and shared accomplishments.

Events

I’m excited to share some upcoming events that promise to add vibrancy to our calendars. On the horizon, we have the much-anticipated Foster Care Awareness Week (FCAW) in the first week of March. The commitment, love, and dedication that foster caregivers demonstrate deserve recognition, and FCAW is the perfect platform to celebrate their noble efforts. I am in the middle of organising an exciting event to celebrate you. I will share some more details through our Facebook Group, on our website and in an email. Watch this space!

When it comes to events, coffee catch-ups, and support groups, let’s seize the opportunity to not only participate but also to contribute. Whether it’s volunteering, spreading awareness, or simply being present, our involvement can amplify the impact of these initiatives. Together, let’s make these events memorable not only for ourselves but for the entire community.

Training

Don’t forget we have a bunch of fabulous online training available for you this term! What could be better than having a cuppa in hand and learning the latest therapeutic parenting tips, right from the comfort of your couch? To check out what we have on offer, click below.

I look forward to connecting with more of you this year.
