Kia ora wonderful caregivers,
I hope everyone is keeping well. I have been busy with the wonderful team at the Independent Children’s Monitor (ICM). If you would like to read about them, click here: https://www.icm.org.nz/ . I did a pilot with them last year in the Horowhenua district and this year we covered the Porirua/Kapiti region. They are covering the whole country over the next few years so you may hear from us, Caring Families Aotearoa, at some stage to invite you to a session with them.
They are checking in with caregivers throughout the country to see what their experiences are with the implementation of the National Care Standards.

A huge thank you to everyone who has taken part so far, the ICM team has been blown away by the amazing mahi you all do, and we have really appreciated your input.
School holidays are over again for another term. I hope you all had a break of some sort and the children got to relax a bit. I used to enjoy not having to get up quite so early in the mornings.
Training
We had a great online discussion session last month about Identity and Belonging. There are online modules available for those who can’t get to the trainings in person and I encourage you to check out what we are delivering this term here for our online options.
Identity and Belonging includes a module that you complete in your own time. Once you have completed the module, you can then join us for an online discussion session. There are some great videos in the module and a chance to reflect on your journey as a caregiver and the journey of the tamariki/rangatahi in your care.
