Kia ora,

I hope everyone is keeping warm during these chilly winter days we are having.

We seem to be having a large amount of rain down South which makes for some interesting driving while in flood!

I hope you all enjoyed the first Matariki public holiday. While in our region, we did not do anything to mark the occasion, I will endeavour to have something wonderful planned for you and your whānau next year.

As I am still relatively new in this role, I am still finding my feet, but I have had the chance to meet some wonderful Caregivers. I hope to meet more of you, next month, with a coffee morning being held in Oamaru August 11th, 10-12pm at the Youth Centre. If you are in the district, please feel free to pop in and say ‘Hi’.  I’d love to connect with you all.

I am hoping to be in Invercargill the first week of August, this is still to be confirmed, I plan to stop into Gore on the way back, so would love to meet Caregivers in this area also.  More details to come.

Training

This term we have a number of online training courses available, Fetal Alchohol Spectrum Disorder, What’s Behind the Behaviour – Healing Centred Engagement and Making Changes – Stability in Hard Times.

Our Ako Ngātahi/Learning Together monthly online series is continuing, with this month’s focus on looking after yourself. Click the training calendar for more information or to register.

Keeping PACE – National Conference

21-22 September

Another small reminder about our upcoming conference. Have you had a look at our website about our national conference?  It’s a fantastic 2 days of learning, meeting, connecting with other Caregivers and enjoying a fabulous gala dinner.  Conference is being hosted in Te Awa Kairangi (Lower Hutt) this year. Contact me if you’d like to consider going, you’ll get so much out of it.  More details can be found by clicking on the button below.

Stay warm, in heart and body, as you care for the taonga/treasure in your home. Don’t forget to take care of you as well.

Me tiaki, noho pai.  Take care and stay well.
