Kia ora everyone
As we announced in last month’s Snippets we have changed the boundaries for the North West region to now go as far south as Foxton, over to Shannon, encompassing the Manawatu towns. I would therefore like to welcome our new caregiver members who have joined us from those Lower North areas. If you live within these new regional boundaries, your details will automatically have been swapped over in our systems.
Those of you who have joined us from the Lower North, and who were members of the Caring Families Aotearoa Lower North Support Facebook group, you will need to leave this group and join the Caring Families Aoteaora Northwest Support Facebook group. You will receive an email from our National Office with step by step details as to how to do this. If you have any questions about transferring groups please contact our National Office Marketing team on 0800 693 323.
I hope your school holidays went well and you managed to get some recreation in amongst the rain drops. If you have had an interesting or enlightening event during this time, please consider sharing it on our Facebook page, you may give other Caregivers ideas to help them for the next holiday time. Stephanie, our National Support Manager is looking after our regional page and loves posts from you all.
Over the last while, Caring Families Aotearoa have been aiming to connect with you all, checking in over the phone. Please, if you feel you need a listening ear or support, our national team are fantastic at doing just that.
REGIONAL COMMITTEE
Caring Families Aotearoa is keen to help organise some events for you to connect, some will be whānau focused and some just for us, as grown ups, encouraging us on our caring journey. We love some help with these. If you are interested in helping with connecting Caregivers, helping with events or support groups, please consider becoming a Regional Committee Member. It would be great to have a list of keen members to support these happening across our region. Remember that this also includes our Manawatu Caregiver members. More information is available here or ring Stephanie 0800 693 323.

Finally, this is only my second monthly news sharing in ‘Snippets’, and unfortunately my last. I am having to leave this role to look after a close family member. This happened very quickly and as a family, we needed to make a decision quickly which I didn’t see coming but I feel I must walk my talk. I was really looking forward to getting to know you all. Please ring our free phone 0800 693 323 if you would like support or an ear to listen if you need it.
Wishing you all the very best, really sorry my time with Caring Families Aotearoa has been cut so short.
Kia kaha
Gavin
