Kia ora koutou/ Greetings all,
Well aren’t we marching towards year’s end already! Daylight saving is well underway and the general election is now behind us. We have a new government of the day. I am sure in our world we carry on with the day to day routine of caring for our tamariki.
We have some planning underway for a couple of events that will be promoted on our Facebook page later this month, so make sure you are a member! CLICK HERE to join us on our private group that keeps you updated with what’s happening around the rohe/region.
TRAINING
Term 4 is relatively quiet on the training front due to the busy nature of this term but we have one face to face workshop (Family Dynamics – Torn Loyalties) in Motueka on Tues 7 November so join us if you can – REGISTER HERE.
There is also the usual variety of online options available to you – MORE INFO HERE.
FASD-CAN has a new caregiver training – ‘Life with FASD: Understand and Connect with Aroha’ coming up in Whakatū / Nelson, in association with Whakatū Te Korowai Manaakitanga Trust. The training will run over Friday and Saturday, November 10/11 at the Greenmeadows Centre in Stoke. As with other trainings, spaces are limited to 25, so if you’re in the area, be quick to find out more and register here.
SUPPORT
The last coffee groups of the year will be held before the holidays. I will update you with details on Facebook, or via email, once I know more. Nelson coffee group will be held later in the month in November as it will be our last for the year
- Monday 27 November at 10am
- Tahunanui Community Hub, 55 Muritai Street, Nelson
We also have our closed Facebook group for our wonderful Upper South Caregiver Members to keep updated and connect with each other virtually, click below to join!
EVENTS
Thanks to all who attended our Westport and Greymouth events. Hopefully, when Rob, our therapist, has recovered, we can get him to come the next time we do this.
The Family Fun Days will have either been run or are in the next few days by the time this goes to print. We have had a lot of interest in these events and I know you will all have a great time with your tamariki. Hopefully I will have some photos next newsletter (I’m terrible at remembering to take them).
Ngā mihi nui
Denise
