Fostercare Awareness Week (8-14 March) is a great time in our calendar year to thank you all for the wonderful work that you do. Each year I look forward to celebrating with you all! I’d like to make the most of time spent in your area so I’ll let you know when these events are finalised in separate emails.

I’ve circled Tuesday, February 16 for an FASD support chat at my office, 16A Finlayson Street, Whangārei and Kaitaia, Caregiver support day 22 February, the venue to be advised.
We spent most of the three-week break around the home, doing all those chores we neglected through the year. I cleaned corners whilst moving furniture and tended vegetables at our community and home gardens. I’ve made jams, desserts, and cookies (and have eaten them). I’ve also danced at the Waitangi Six60 concert, walked to Rangihoua Pā and caught fish in Whangārei harbour!
Looking forward to seeing many of you whilst we can still enjoy long summer days.

The NCTP training team will be back into the swing of things in February. We have exciting opportunities for you and will be kicking off the year with more online courses, as well as weekend and evening training options in Term 1. We hope to add Legal Information for Caregivers and Identity & Belonging to our online selection. We will also be offering our Keeping Memories and Understanding the National Care Standards courses online again.
