Wow, Sixth month of 2022 already….where does the time go??
We have some great support, training and events for you this month…it’s a busy one for me.
Events
The event planned for Friday the 10th from 10.30am to 2pm in Rawene is to provide a ‘Care and Creativity’ space for you. Register your interest if you haven’t already as places are limited. Regional Events – Caring Families
The event planned for Sunday the 26th from 11am in Whangārei is a family time with food and activities provided. An opportunity to meet other caring families and share a laugh or two with the Matariki theme in mind (Pūanga is the brightest star we see in the North sky). Regional Events – Caring Families

Support
I’ve enjoyed hosting online support groups where Caregivers from all over Aotearoa come to share their stories and listen to others providing their views and experiences. It’s not everyone’s ‘cuppa tea’ but these platforms have provided much needed connections during Covid restrictions and some want them to continue as the restrictions ease. Caregiving can be an isolating role so we’re pleased to be able to continue as long as the need does.
The next virtual support group is on 7 June at either 12.30pm or 8pm. Please register so we can send you the link to join us on Teams. Virtual Coffee Gatherings – Caring Families
If you’re interesting in helping to set up a support network around the North please make contact and we can provide a contribution per attendee so that our caregiver support opportunites grow.
Training
While we offer training online, on 7 June I’ll be kanohi ki to kanohi (face to face) in Kaitaia. I’d love to see you there as we talk about Difficult Behaviours. Here’s the link to our training schedule so make sure you keep you Kete mātauranga (Knowledge basket) full with fresh ‘kai/food’.
Beautiful shot of Whangārei Heads from the water
Cauliflower base pizza – one of my favourites to make – so easy
Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa/Big greetings to you all
Noho ora noho haumaru/Stay well, stay safe
