Kia ora koutou,
Well, hasn’t the last few weeks been an introduction to Winter! Snow capped hills and a bite to the wind has prompted me to shake out the winter sheets and clean the heatpump to take the chill off.
I have really enjoyed being kanohi ki te kanohi (face to face) again after the long spell of restrictions. Precautions are still in place with face coverings etc and importance given to the long tail of Covid tail that Aotearoa is experiencing.
Our support groups around the region are going well and it is exciting to see new faces. We also have the virtual groups for those that wish to engage in that format. I have found it interesting but not surprising that themes are similar around the motu (country) and it is always encouraging to hear from other caregivers and what does or doesn’t work for them in some of those tricky moments with our tamariki (children).

Mid Winter Movie Nights
Please join us for our Mid Winter Movie Nights. RSVPs are required, please. Some venues are yet to be confirmed but so far we have locked in Nelson and Blenheim. Please keep an eye open on the Facebook group or in our Events tab on our Website.
Training
This term we have been delivering our new programme, Difficult behaviours, Managing Confrontations and Intimidating behaviours. Both the online and face to face trainings are getting great responses and feedback. I guess most of us experience confrontational behaviour at some point. Understanding where this behaviour stems from and why it happens is a great first step.
